A Business Idea: Simplifying What’s Hard in Fiber Networks

Over the last few years, I’ve been trying to build something that truly matters.

My goal?
To create a simple and affordable IT tool for the single most critical — and often most frustrating — part of fiber optic networks: fiber splice documentation.

Sure, you can draw a network map in Google Earth or QGIS.
But try documenting real fiber connections across hundreds or thousands of fibers — that’s where things break down fast. Without IT support, it becomes unmanageable.

Where did the idea come from?

Since 2014, I’ve worked with fiber operators. I’ve seen teams struggle with:
- hours lost to Excel spreadsheets and diagrams in Visio or AutoCAD,
- no clear overview of which fibers are used or free,
- no way to trace a fiber route end-to-end,
- and splice documentation treated as an afterthought — if done at all.

So I asked myself:
Does it really have to be this complicated?

Fibkit – The Product of a Focused IT Project

Fibkit is the result of years of hands-on work.
I didn’t want to copy what’s already out there — that’s not the point.

Instead, I wanted even the smallest fiber operator to have access to a clean, intuitive, and focused tool — not something that costs thousands of dollars and takes weeks to implement.

That’s why Fibkit is:
- available right away,
- runs in the browser,
- requires no credit card,
- and offers a free forever plan with fair limits.

This Wasn’t Supposed to Be Easy

This was never about doing something easy.

It was about:
- solving a real, neglected pain point,
- simplifying what’s always been seen as complex,
- and doing it properly — not just quickly.

I believe true value is built when you spend years solving one specific problem — not for “the market,” but for the people who live with it every day.

Why only fiber connections?

Because in fiber documentation, connections are what really matter.

Fibkit doesn’t try to be everything.
It’s not a CAD tool. It won’t replace your GIS or your fiber designer.

But it does one thing extremely well:
Help you understand, plan, and document fiber connections — clearly and accurately.

What makes Fibkit different?

- 100% focused on fiber routing and splice documentation
- A mobile-friendly version helps keep field data accurate in real time
- Developed in close collaboration with real users — in Poland, the US, and beyond
- Zero-barrier entry: no credit card, 14-day free trial, and a free-forever plan
- I’m not selling another tool you already have — I’m offering relief from the mess

Fibkit in 2024 – Ready for Real Work

Fibkit is a browser-based app that lets you:
- plan and document fiber connections
- trace fiber routes end-to-end
- visualize splices inside closures
- export to KML, XLS, CSV, and PDF
- manage cables, closures, splices, and team tasks in one place

No installation. No steep learning curve. Just log in and go.
